Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an Administrative Officer to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Molecular Diagnostics Department, enabling timely diagnostic services while maintaining high standards for donor and patient-related procedures.

You will join a team handling data entry, sample receipt, and a range of admin duties, with flexible hours (full-time or part-time) Mon-Sat, 07:00-18:00, including occasional Saturday cover on service needs.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Process sample receipt and data entry in a team.
• Assist with a wide range of administrative duties as workload dictates.
• Communicate with the public, NHSBT departments and external contacts while maintaining confidentiality.
• Handle telephone calls and respond to information requests.
• Maintain manual and electronic filing systems and minute taking.
• Undertake general office duties including photocopying and scanning.
