Job summary

Gladstone Road Primary School in Scarborough is seeking an Administration Assistant to join our friendly office team. You will be the first face pupils, parents and visitors see, handling reception duties and keeping every day running smoothly for 700 pupils.

You will work with our School Business Manager and fellow admins, utilising MS Office, maintaining records and supporting reporting. We offer varied, rewarding work in a dynamic school environment with development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of administration and office systems.
  • Clerical or administrative experience.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office.
  • Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Literacy and numeracy qualifications (e.g., Level 2 / GCSE).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain computerised and manual pupil/staff records.

  • Administering first aid, and analysing first aid incidents for any patterns
  • Keeping up to date club registers, records of trip permission slips, staff training records, In line with KCSIE requirements, please complete your full employment history to ensure any gaps in your education and career history are accounted for.

Our Opportunity

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join our friendly office team. The role is front of house, you will be the first face our pupils, parents and visitors see when they visit our school. With 700 pupils there is rarely a quiet moment, and no two days are the same! We are looking for someone who is friendly, organised, with attention to detail and adaptable to change. You will be supported by our School Business Manager, Senior Administration Assistant and two other Administration Assistants. Our office team are at the heart of our school, making sure that everything runs smoothly. Working in our school is incredibly rewarding.
