Job summary

The Gordon’s Children’s Academy in Strood is seeking an Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to join the admin team. You will provide high‑quality administrative support, assist the Office Manager, and handle reception tasks including filing, parent communications, photocopying and scanning.

Key responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for parents, staff and visitors, managing communications, and maintaining information systems with data reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous administration and reception experience ideally within a busy office or school environment is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office with confidence learning new systems
  • Knowledge of using Arbor would be advantageous
  • A positive, flexible and professional approach with the commitment to excellent customer service
  • Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information

Responsibilities

About The Role

Are you looking for an admin role in an education setting?

We are recruiting an experienced Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to join our friendly admin team. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and diligent candidate providing a high standard of administrative support and will assist the Office Manager in ensuring efficiency within the School Office. You will be a proactive team player who will undertake general office duties including filing, parent communications, photocopying and scanning.

Our Administrative Assistant / Receptionist will;

  • Act as first point of contact for parents/carers, visitors, staff and external agencies helping to deliver excellent customer service
  • Managing communications between the school, parents/carers through letters, website and other platforms
  • Maintain information systems, databases and other associated records and produce data for reporting purposes

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 3:45pm

About You:
  • Previous administration and reception experience ideally within a busy office or school environment is desirable
