Brook Street in Bristol is seeking an Administrative Officer (Grade AO) to join a busy, office-based team supporting civil justice processes. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, based in the Greyfriars/Bristol office, with a pay rate of £13.25 per hour.

You will handle front-line customer service, hearings preparation, case file management, and adherence to policies, while maintaining data security and supporting operational targets.

  • Provide customer service to users and stakeholders, face-to-face, by phone and in writing.
  • Prepare for and facilitate hearings with administrative tasks.
  • Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost clear information.
  • Follow complaints policies and support users to prevent escalation.
  • Maintain accurate case files and secure information management.
  • Support operational activity using standard procedures to meet targets.
  • Assist with listing, scheduling and enforcement procedures such as financial assessments.
  • Contribute to health and safety checks and governance.

What you'll be doing:
  • Provide customer service to users and stakeholders, helping them via face-to-face engagement, telephone (incoming and outbound) and correspondence in different formats
  • Prepare for and facilitate hearings through a range of administrative tasks, ensuring smooth outcomes
  • Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost and give clear, consistent information-especially when queries are complex
  • Follow complaints policies and procedures, responding promptly and supporting users to prevent escalation
  • Maintain accurate case file handling, secure information management, and compliance with retention and data loss protocols
  • Support operational activity using standard operating procedures to meet performance targets
  • Help with jury service tasks (selection, deferral, reassignment, attendance tracking) and process related expenses and court fees
  • Assist with listing and scheduling, including urgent matters, and support enforcement procedures such as financial assessments and fine collection
  • Contribute to health and safety operations, including checks, issue logging and key/safety governance under guidance
