Job summary

Junior Adventures Group in Bedfordshire is seeking a Childcare Activity Leader for Breakfast Club and After School Wraparound. This casual, zero-hour role offers mornings and afternoons with a break in between, and potential hour increases during Holiday Club seasons.

You will deliver exciting activities, supervise children, prepare snacks, and manage sign-in/out while maintaining a safe, welcoming space. DBS checked and two references required.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to work with children and create engaging activities.
• Proven people skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Bonus for teaching, coaching, childcare, or youth work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities such as sports, crafts, games.
• Set up play spaces, maintain safety, cleanliness and engagement.
• Supervise children with warmth and energy, ensuring inclusivity.
• Prepare snacks and manage sign-in/out with attention to detail.
• Work split shifts: 7:30–9:00am and 3:00–6:00pm.

Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire (must be able to travel round Bedfordshire)
Hours: Casual
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour

At Junior Adventures Group, we’re not just childcare, we’re champions of fun! From football to face painting, scavenger hunts to snack time, you’ll bring smiles, laughter, and energy to our Breakfast & After School Clubs for children aged 4–11. This role is zero hours t, meaning you can work mornings and afternoons, with a break in between (great for studying, hobbies, family, or even a nap!). You’ll also have the opportunity to increase your hours during Holiday Club seasons and Lunchtime Cover.

What you'll do day-to-day:

• Deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities like multi-sports, arts & crafts, group games, and creative play.
• Set up engaging play spaces and keep things safe, clean, and awesome.
• Supervise children with care and enthusiasm, ensuring every child feels welcome, safe, and included.
• Prepare snacks and manage sign-in/out processes with a friendly face and attention to detail.
• Work split shifts: 7:30–9:00am and 3:00–6:00pm, perfect for work-life balance or those seeking part-time fun!
• Be a team player who can also take the lead when needed.

What we’re looking for:
