Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Newhaven to deliver letters and parcels. This fixed-term role offers 30 hours per week on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends, with overtime available and a starting rate of £13.68 per hour.

You will walk and drive a Royal Mail van, work outdoors in all weather, and build relationships with customers. Full training is provided, along with pension and wellbeing benefits, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.
