Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Eastbourne for a 30-hour, 5 days in 7 rota. You’ll deliver letters and parcels in the local area, using a Royal Mail van and walking routes, outdoors in all weather. Full training and a uniform are provided, with overtime paid and Sundays in the schedule.

The role is active and customer-facing, requiring a full manual UK driving licence, reliability, and a willingness to work weekends. Benefits include pension and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 penalty points, registered to applicant name/address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
