Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join our Bristol office. You will work with a varied portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and supporting tax and compliance work.

The role offers exposure to sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, mentoring junior staff and collaboration with Managers and Partners to meet deadlines. ACA/ACCA qualifications are advantageous; part-qualified candidates with relevant practice experience are

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice and accounts preparation is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are important.
• ACA or ACCA qualifications would be advantageous, but part-qualified or qualified-by-experience candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Complete VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments where required.
• Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact for accounting and taxation needs.
• Build strong, long-term client relationships and provide practical advice and support.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Work closely with Managers and Partners to ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments.

As Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:

• - Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• - Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
• - Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments where required
• - Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact for their accounting and taxation requirements
• - Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and providing practical advice and support
• - Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• - Working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

The successful Accounts Senior will:

Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be confident across accounts preparation and taxation work.

ACA or ACCA qualifications would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from part-qualified and qualified-by-experience candidates with the right level of accountancy practice experience.

You'll be an excellent communicator, well organised and comfortable managing a varied workload whilst delivering a high standard of client service.
