Job summary

Trial Balance in Torquay is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join its established practice. The role offers a varied client portfolio, strong client relationships and a supportive environment, with opportunity to develop your career.

You will prepare and review year-end accounts, handle personal and corporate tax returns, VAT and bookkeeping, manage a client portfolio, mentor junior staff and work closely with Managers and Partners to meet deadlines.

Thiswell-established and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior to join its Torquay team. As Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
• Completing and reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments
• Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

The successful Accounts Senior candidate will:

Have previous experience gained within an accountancy practice and be confident managing a varied portfolio of clients across accounts and tax.

ACA or ACCA qualifications would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from part-qualified and qualified-by-experience candidates. You'll be a strong communicator, well organised and comfortable balancing technical work with regular client interaction.
