Job summary

Trial Balance in Bristol is recruiting an Accounts Semi Senior to join its established team. The role offers a structured environment with experienced colleagues and a clear route to progression towards an Accounts Senior.

You will prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies, assist with tax returns, VAT and bookkeeping, and build strong client relationships while working with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA advantageous, though relevant practical experience will be considered.
• Organised, proactive and confident communicating with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
• Assisting with personal and corporate tax returns.
• Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments where required.
• Working with a varied client portfolio and developing strong client relationships.
• Responding to client queries and providing day-to-day accounting support.
• Working closely with senior colleagues to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Supporting junior colleagues and continuing to develop your own technical knowledge.

• Responding to client queries and providing day-to-day accounting support
• Working closely with senior colleagues to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Supporting junior colleagues and continuing to develop your own technical knowledge

The successful Accounts Semi Senior candidate will:

Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be looking for an opportunity where they can continue to build their skills and take on greater responsibility.

AAT qualification or studies towards ACA or ACCA would be advantageous, although relevant practical experience will also be considered. You'll be organised, proactive and confident communicating with clients and colleagues, with a genuine ambition to progress within accountancy practice.
