In addition, we offer a portfolio of screening products in reproductive health, precision medicine and infectious disease including screening assays for cystic fibrosis and DPYD genotyping to prevent chemotoxicity.

Yourgene Genomic Services provides a range of genetic analysis services for our clinical, research and pharma customers to support partners with DNA extractions, biobanking, genotyping, arrays and sequencing workflows (WES and WGS). Yourgene Genomic Services offers a Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) Service, enabling clinics to run their own NIPT service for pregnant women with our prenatal screening tests and service laboratory based in Manchester.

Description of role

Yourgene Health, part of the Novacyt Group, are recruiting for a permanent Account Payable Specialist, based in Manchester, that will assist with the operation and maintenance of creditor ledger for the Novacyt Group. This role will involve liaising directly with suppliers and staff across the Group will require strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will a natural problem solver, who shows initiative and will be flexible and proactive in their approach to the job.

Key areas of responsibility
  • Invoice Processing & Ledger Management
    • Process purchase invoices with precision, ensuring timely resolution of any internal or external queries.
    • Perform rigorous 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Goods Received Note, Invoice) to ensure validity of costs.
    • Handle invoice and receipt allocations to keep the ledger tidy.
    • Review the GRNI report regularly and collaborate with the Purchasing team to resolve aged items.
  • Reconciliations & Payments
    • Carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations to ensure our records match the supplier's; investigating any discrepancies immediately.
    • Assist with the preparation of suggested payment lists for weekly payment runs.
    • Assist with the processing of monthly credit card reconciliations and staff expense claims.
    • Maintain a "clean" creditors ledger-we pride ourselves on keeping balances accurate.
  • Communication & Admin
    • Act as the first point of contact for supplier enquiries, maintaining strong, professional relationships.
    • Organise and manage the Accounts Department e-mail inboxes, ensuring no query goes unanswered.
    • Provide regular feedback on the status of supplier accounts to the Group AP Manager.
    • Undertake ad hoc tasks to support the Group Accounts Payable Manager as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role (essential).

Qualifications

AAT or Part-Qualified (essential).

Systems

Experience with Sage 200 and NetSuite is highly desirable.

Technical Skills
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Excel (confident with spreadsheets and data manipulation).
  • Previous experience with cashbook or bank reconciliations would be an advantage.
Key Attributes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (you'll be talking to suppliers a lot).
  • High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
