TPF Recruitment, Kent's leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is looking for an Accountancy Practice Manager to join a highly reputable top-tier firm of Chartered Accountants based in Tunbridge Wells.
As an Accountancy Practice Manager, your main duties will include:
- Maintaining regular communication with clients, internal teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of key updates and relevant matters.
- Managing the preparation of management and statutory accounts, VAT returns, and related services. This includes setting budgets, planning and scheduling staff, and overseeing the full delivery cycle.
- Taking a commercial view of clients’ businesses to ensure services are tailored and relevant to their needs.
- Preparing proposals for new work and identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients. You’ll also play a key role in onboarding new clients and integrating them into your team’s workflow.
- Drafting fee notes and cover letters in line with internal billing policies, ready for review by senior leadership.
- Supporting the team with debt collection efforts, in line with company cash collection processes.
- Reviewing and finalising monthly and quarterly management accounts, VAT returns, and unaudited statutory accounts. You’ll also review XBRL tagged accounts prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) or qualified by experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to assess situations and reach sound conclusions when dealing with both clients and internal teams.
- Proven ability to build client relationships, manage workflows, and ensure all work is delivered on time while consistently exceeding client expectations.
- Solid technical knowledge to produce compliant statutory accounts, address VAT-related issues, respond to technical queries from clients and staff, and make informed technical decisions.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to monitor work against budgets and evaluate overall effectiveness. Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Microsoft Office.
