The role

We’re now looking for a motivated Account Handler (Commercial Insurance) to join us at the Jensten Group. You’ll be based in our Kidderminster office, primarily working on our Renewals book, with opportunities to handle New Business as well. We offer various insurance types, including Motor Fleet, Commercial Combined, Professional Liability, and SME’s. Reporting to a team leader, your main goal is to retain and renew clients, handle midterm adjustments, and address client queries. Key responsibilities include:

  • Present insurance solutions and risk management options to secure renewals and attract new clients.
  • Support team performance through regular communication and problem-solving.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing leads and developing new strategies to increase quotes.
  • Meet or exceed targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing channels.
  • Negotiate terms with providers to meet client needs.
  • Manage invoicing and credit control for premiums.
  • Understand clients' businesses, risks, and risk management approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, customer service standards, and regulations such as FCA.

About you

As an Account Handler, you should have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to develop your career in insurance. You’ll likely have:

  • Experience in Commercial Insurance (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them.
  • Strong telephone and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for learning and growth in insurance.
  • Previous experience working with insurers and clients.
  • Initiative and multi-tasking abilities, including system updates and admin tasks.
  • Knowledge of Acturis systems (preferably).
