A regional emergency service provider in Crawley is looking for a clinical professional to join their Emergency Operations Centre. In this role, you'll provide remote clinical assessments and support Emergency Medical Advisors while managing incidents to ensure patient safety. The ideal candidate should have a healthcare qualification and excellent communication skills. Training for the role is fully structured and requires commitment to flexible shift patterns including evenings and weekends.
Step up your clinical skills – join our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Clinical team and shape urgent and emergency care from the first call. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our virtual care model – providing remote clinical assessment, triage and advice to ensure patients get the right care at the right time.
The training and mentoring is full time (37.5 hours per week) whether you are applying for a full time or part time position. You will be required to attend the full 8 weeks of training; no annual leave or days off will be agreed during this time. Failure to attend will result in your employment with the trust being terminated. Please note you will be required to be flexible during your mentoring period as we are unable to plan shifts ahead of time.
Due to licence requirements, you must pass all assessments during your training to pass the course. You will be offered a resit if required; if unsuccessful at the resit your employment will be terminated immediately with the Trust. In addition, you will need to be signed off as clinically safe following mentor and diamond weeks, again failure to meet the required standard will result in your employment being terminated with the Trust.
Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS‑COV‑2 (COVID‑19) vaccination. For patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff. As part of the application process, you will be asked to declare any unspent/unfiltered convictions. If you are shortlisted you will then be sent a self‑declaration form, which must be completed prior to attending interview.
Please note that all positions come with a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check relevant to the post. This will either be a basic, standard, or enhanced check depending on the role.
The Trust operates 365 days per year, 24 hours per day and there is a requirement to work a variety of shifts including evenings, nights, weekend and bank holidays. Unsocial hours are payable in addition to the salary quoted, dependent upon working pattern.
When completing the application please use your name as it appears on your passport and please ensure you include email addresses and contact numbers for your referees to avoid delay in the recruitment process.
We are unable to employ anyone under the age of 18 years old.
The majority of our roles will include some travel between sites for business purposes. If the vacancy you're applying for includes work related travel, you will be required to ensure that you hold and have covered the cost of suitable car insurance to support this.
