Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is recruiting on behalf of a well known client in the Swansea area for multiple 7.5 Tonne drivers. The role involves manual handling, updating delivery statuses, and vehicle inspections, with a focus on safety and timely deliveries. Location is Swansea, starting Monday to Friday with PAYE rates.

Pay rates are £16.05 per hour PAYE, with overtime at £23.43 per hour after 40 hours. This temp-to-perm role requires a full UK licence (7.5t CAT C1) and relevant tachograph

Qualifications

• Full UK licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement (CAT C1).
• 12 months driving experience required.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Knowledge of WTD legislation.
• Strong communication and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manual handling including loading/unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Use devices and company software to update delivery statuses.
• Occasional push roller cages movement and site assistance.
• Reversing and manoeuvring vehicles, with shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for roadworthiness and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am starts

Pay Rates: £16.05 PAYE Per Hour, over time after 40 hours £23.43ph PAYE

Job Type: Temp to perm

The role:

• Manual handling heavily involved including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery statuses
• Handle occasional push roller cages as needed, assisting sites with movement when required.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Full UK licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement (CAT C1)
• 12 months experience required.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
