Job summary

X4 Technology is seeking a proactive 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join a large UK construction and engineering contractor. You will escalate complex incidents, automate tasks with Azure DevOps pipelines, PowerShell, Power Automate and Power Apps, and support a multi-site estate.

This role emphasizes cross-functional communication, ITIL-aligned processes, and a path toward infrastructure design or architecture over time.

Qualifications

• Proven 3rd line infrastructure/systems engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure (VMs, Azure AD/Entra ID) and Office 365 administration.
• Experience building automation via scripting and pipelines (PowerShell, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents within ITIL-aligned processes.
• Manage and support core infrastructure: Windows Server, VMware, Azure IaaS/PaaS, and Office 365.
• Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines and PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks.
