Job summary

Syntax Consultancy Ltd. is seeking a Field Support Engineer (2nd Line) in Northampton with hybrid working. The role is permanent and offers a salary up to £30,000 (DOE) plus benefits. A company car is provided and the position involves travel to Midlands and Southern offices, with some remote work from home when not on client sites.

Ideal candidates will have 2nd line IT experience, Windows/AD/M365 proficiency, imaging, and device management skills. Start ASAP in Oct/Nov 2026.

Qualifications

Experience as a 2nd line field support engineer handling IT issues.
Experience supporting Windows 10/11, AD, Microsoft 365, and printers.
Willing to travel regionally and work hybrid at customer sites and head office.

Responsibilities

Take and log IT support requests from end users and resolve issues.
Travel to regional offices across Midlands and South; liaise with third-party suppliers.
Escalate complex problems to higher support tiers and ensure timely resolution.
Image, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktops/laptops and printers.
Set up mobile devices (iPhone/iPad) and manage Microsoft 365 support.
Maintain network basics, TCP/IP and remote support routines.
