Job summary

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee Acute & Diagnostic Services administration teams in Dumfries & Galloway. You will provide day‑to‑day line management, support service improvement and staff development, ensuring high‑quality patient services.

Lead on staffing, workload coordination and the delivery of a patient‑focused administration function, working with senior managers and clinical colleagues to maintain service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or line managing staff in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to handle competing demands under pressure.
• Flexible, solution‑focused approach to challenges.
• Proficient IT skills including Office 365 tools.
• Previous NHS experience would be advantageous.

Are you an experienced Team Leader / Line Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting and developing others to deliver excellent services?

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Team Leader to join our Acute & Diagnostic Administration Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading administration teams across a range of clinical services, ensuring patients, clinicians and colleagues receive a high-quality, efficient and responsive service.

As a Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day line management and operational support, helping to ensure administration services run smoothly while supporting service improvement, staff development and change initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Managing and supporting administration teams within Acute & Diagnostic Services
• Co-ordinating workloads, rotas and service cover to maintain high standards of service delivery
• Supporting recruitment, induction, training, supervision and development of staff
• Managing annual leave, sickness absence and workforce planning
• Supporting service redesign and continuous improvement initiatives
• Working closely with senior managers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Resolving issues, managing competing priorities and responding to operational pressures
• Contributing to the delivery of a modern, patient-focused administration service

• Previous NHS experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
