Job summary

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee administration teams across Acute & Diagnostic Services, ensuring high-quality, efficient and responsive service for patients and clinicians.

You will manage day-to-day line management, workloads, leave and recruitment, support service improvement and staff development, and work with senior managers and multidisciplinary teams to drive change.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or line management experience.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a busy administrative environment.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing demands.
• A flexible, solution-focused approach.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Teams.
• A passion for supporting staff and delivering excellent patient services.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting administration teams within Acute & Diagnostic Services.
• Co-ordinating workloads, rotas and service cover to maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Supporting recruitment, induction, training, supervision and development of staff.
• Managing annual leave, sickness absence and workforce planning.
• Supporting service redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working closely with senior managers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Resolving issues, managing competing priorities and responding to operational pressures.
• Contributing to the delivery of a modern, patient-focused administration service.
