Job summary

Taking Care is hiring Emergency Call Handlers in Exeter to join our 24/7 Resolution team, handling alarm calls and providing life-saving support. You will calmly collect vital information, reassure callers, and coordinate responses to emergencies and non-emergencies alike.

The role requires flexibility, resilience, and a customer-focused approach, with a 40-hour week and a starting salary of £28,342.86, progressing to £29,714.29 with training and service.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a high volume contact centre environment.
• Confident, professional and caring with a patient manner on the telephone.
• Previous experience of dealing with customers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems.
• Flexible and adaptable to change; comfortable with new technology.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, controlling and arranging a swift resolution to emergency situations by contacting relevant parties.
• Accurately recording details of calls using our systems.
• Taking action based on information provided by customers.
• Guiding customers through installing and testing their alarm system.
• Remotely programming alarm equipment in customers' homes.
• Guiding customers through basic troubleshooting of alarm equipment and GPS devices.
• Monitoring signals from alarms and addressing power or battery issues.
