South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Emergency Medical Advisor (999 Call Handler) for Medway. The role is office-based in NHS 111/999 contact centres with flexible rotas that include nights and weekends.

Training spans nine weeks full-time, followed by observed practice in Medway, Kent or Crawley. Applicants must live within commuting distance and have strong typing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High levels of personal commitment to deliver patient-focused service.
• Ability to work in a high-pressured environment.
• Fast/accurate typing and good standard of education or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for 999 emergencies and gather essential information.
• Provide reassurance and guidance while entering data into the system.
• Work as part of a rota including earlies, lates, nights and weekends.
• Maintain calm, empathetic, and professional communication with callers.
