About the Team

The Corporate Affairs & Engagement function is responsible for building and protecting the reputation of the L’Oréal Group in the UK and Ireland. The team handles internal and external communications and public affairs.

Overview
  • Based in the Corporate Affairs & Engagement team and reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, this role focuses on supporting day‑to‑day internal communications, with occasional involvement in external communications and public affairs.
  • The successful candidate will have strong writing skills, a demonstrated interest in news and current affairs, excellent organisational abilities, and experience managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the weekly all‑employee newsletter with an external agency, recommending content, copywriting as needed, and analysing engagement data.
  • Act as the key point of contact and gatekeeper for internal stakeholders accessing internal channels, ensuring alignment with editorial priorities.
  • Copywrite for various internal and external channels, including intranet, internal emails, event materials, reports, social media posts, and website content.
  • Assist with the delivery of key moments and events such as all‑employee Town Halls and external programmes.
  • Monitor a broad range of media and online/social media content daily, reporting on key themes and sentiment.
  • Manage the press office inbox and direct enquiries as required.
  • Assist with media pitching, stakeholder outreach, database updates, trackers, and mail‑outs for key audiences.
  • Support KPI reporting, collating media/social media coverage, monthly team updates, videos, and presentations.
  • Help design documents and collateral for internal and external use, including social media assets, animated slides, and branded materials using software such as Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain the team editorial calendar, ensuring all communications activity across the UK & Ireland is current.
  • Keep all team collateral, website, policies, and processes up to date and maintain internal distribution lists.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day administrative tasks for the team and support team activities as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • In your second year at a UK university on a course that permits an Industrial Placement Year (gradutes are not eligible).
  • Strong MS Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience using Canva, InDesign, or similar design tools (desired).
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
  • Exceptional research and information‑digesting abilities.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive with a keen eye for efficiency improvements.
  • An interest in news, current affairs, and environmental, social, and political issues.
