Job summary

Jago Consultants in Redditch is seeking a bright, motivated 1st line support technician to join their application support help desk team. You will handle inbound calls and emails, log, progress and resolve tickets, and read server logs to identify issues.

You will install and patch systems, support laptops and desktops and network equipment, write SQL queries, and ensure issues are resolved within SLA. The role offers training programs and a 37.5 hour week with salary 24,000–29,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and professional phone manner.
• Fast learner with ability to adapt to new systems.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with VPN software and establishing VPN connections.
• Ability to write SQL queries and scripts in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Take inbound calls and emails and log tickets.
• Progress and resolve support tickets within SLA.
• Read and troubleshoot server log files.
• Create, troubleshoot and fix SQL queries and scripts.
• Install new systems and patch/upgrade existing systems.
• Support laptops, desktops and network equipment.
• Maintain CRM and documentation up to date.
• Ensure issues are resolved end-to-end, including overnight processes.
