Job summary

IP-People, an established IT services business in the UK, is recruiting a 1st Line IT Support Engineer to join the technical team in Oldham. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their IT career to develop skills across Windows, Microsoft 365 and basic networking.

You will provide remote support to business users, manage tickets, and work with experienced engineers to grow your technical knowledge in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1st line IT support experience or MSP exposure.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Some networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).

We're recruiting for an established IT services business looking to add a 1st Line IT Support Engineer to their technical team.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career who wants to develop their skills, work with a variety of technologies and gain valuable experience in a professional IT support environment.

The Role

You’ll be part of a technical support team, helping customers resolve day-to-day IT issues while developing your knowledge across a range of systems and technologies.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing remote IT support to business users.


• Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft 365 and general IT issues.


• Supporting hardware, software and basic networking problems.


• Managing support tickets and escalating more complex issues.


• Working alongside experienced engineers to develop your technical knowledge.

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have:

• 6-12 months’ experience in an MSP, or 12+ months in an IT support role.


• A basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft 365.


• Some networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.


• Good communication and customer service skills.


• A genuine interest in technology and developing your IT career.

You don't need to know everything. We're looking for someone with good technical foundations, the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
