Job summary

ECS Resource Group is seeking an IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) in Aldershot, Hampshire. You will be the first point of contact for business customers and strive to resolve issues on the first call wherever possible.

Key duties include handling support calls and tickets across Microsoft 365, Windows, devices, networks and cloud services; day-to-day M365 administration; troubleshooting Outlook, Teams and SharePoint; logging, documenting and escalating tickets; occasional customer-site visits;

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support or service desk.
• Strong communication on the phone and in person.
• Ability to troubleshoot day-to-day business IT issues.
• Good attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) - MSP

Location: Aldershot, Hampshire

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000, or up to £38,000 for strong MSP experience

Type: Permanent, full-time

The company

Our client is an established Hampshire managed service provider. They support UK businesses with IT, Microsoft 365 and cyber security. They're growing their service desk team.

The role

You'll be a first point of contact for business customers, aiming to fix issues on the first call wherever you can. Your work will include:

• Handling support calls and tickets across Microsoft 365, Windows, devices, networks and cloud services
• Day-to-day M365 administration, including users, mailboxes, password resets, MFA and account queries
• Troubleshooting Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Windows issues
• Logging, documenting and escalating tickets clearly
• Helping with customer onboarding and making occasional visits to customer sites
• Liaising with third-party vendors

What you'll need

• Some experience in IT support or on a service desk
• Confidence and friendliness on the phone and face to face, since this role suits someone who enjoys talking to people
• Comfort troubleshooting everyday issues for business users
• Good attention to detail, and the ability to keep several tickets moving at once
• A full UK driving licence

Nice to have

• MSP experience, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint), basic networking (Wi-Fi, routers, VPNs) and any IT certifications.
