Job Title

Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver (12‑month fixed term)

Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a zero hour prescription delivery driver to work on a 12‑month fixed term contract at our 579 branch at 118 High Street, Little Lever, Bolton, BL3 1LR. The position requires flexibility within branch opening times (Mon‑Fri 09:00‑18:00, Sat 09:00‑13:00) and a professional service standard to customers and pharmacy teams.

Responsibilities
  • Promptly and conscientiously deliver prescription items to private homes, nursing and residential homes, ensuring compliance with regulated procedures.
  • Plan and print daily routes using basic computer skills before departure.
  • Assist with PR exercises to increase business as required.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional image and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Great people skills and ability to work under pressure within the designated time period.
  • Flexible to work during branch opening hours.
  • Very basic computer skills for route planning and printing.
  • Use of own vehicle with business‑use insurance; provide proof of increased premium for a company contribution.
  • DBS check required as part of recruitment.

Additional Information

Mileage reimbursement: 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile as per HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts must be kept and mileage claimed weekly.
