Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN School in Erdington, Birmingham. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to a KS4 pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and welfare team, implement EHCP strategies, support emotional regulation, monitor progress and liaise with parents. Weekly pay and CPD opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting KS4 pupils with SEN is desirable.
• Knowledge of ASC/ADHD/SEMH is advantageous.
• Patient, calm, and resilient with a nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to adapt to the individual needs of pupils and remain consistent in your approach.
• Reliable, proactive, and committed to a long-term role.
• Willing to participate in CPD such as Autism Awareness and Safeguarding.

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN School in Erdington, Birmingham. This rewarding role involves providing dedicated support to a KS4 pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the life of a young person through consistent, individualised support.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 3:30pm
• Friday: 8:30am - 1:45pm (early finish)

About the Role

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS4 pupil throughout the school day

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
• A good understanding of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is advantageous
