Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Northfield, Birmingham. You will be based in a Year 5 class, supporting learning while providing additional support for pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.

As part of the role, you will work with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions, promote emotional regulation, and help pupils engage with learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within a Year 6 classroom.

Weekly Pay: £500 - £525

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-Term to Permanent

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
• Confident working with upper KS2 pupils
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Calm, resilient and consistent approach
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Team Teach or Behaviour Management training is highly desirable
