Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:2 support for two Year 2 boys at a welcoming primary school in Druids Heath, Birmingham. The role requires vigilance and a nurturing approach to help the pupils stay focused and engage with lessons.

You will work closely with the class teacher and school team, building positive relationships, maintaining clear boundaries, and supporting strategies to improve attention and behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable.
• Ability to support pupils who struggle with attention and following instructions.
• Calm, patient approach with clear boundaries and consistent methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:2 support for two Year 2 pupils to help them stay focused during lessons.
• Support pupils to engage in learning and develop strategies to manage attention and behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher and school team to ensure consistent support and progress.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and understand behaviour as communication.
