Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a patient, nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:2 support for two Year 2 boys at a primary school in Druids Heath, Birmingham. The role requires focus support, calmness and strong communication with staff to aid progress and safety.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to build trust, manage attention challenges and help both pupils engage with learning throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Ability to support pupils who struggle with attention and following instructions.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach with clear boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support two Year 2 boys to stay focused during lessons.
• Encourage participation and help develop strategies for attention and behaviour.
• Work with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure progress.
• Maintain safety and positive engagement, especially for pupils who may abscond.
