Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a patient, nurturing and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:2 support for two Year 2 boys at a Birmingham primary school in Druids Heath.

Start ASAP for at least the full academic year. The role requires vigilance, patience and a nurturing approach to help the pupils stay engaged, follow instructions and develop focus and confidence in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Ability to remain calm and patient with challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication with teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support two Year 2 pupils on a 1:2 basis to stay focused during lessons.
• Encourage participation in learning and help pupils develop strategies to manage attention.
• Work closely with the class teacher and school team to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain safety and positive engagement while boundaries are set.
• Build positive relationships with pupils who may be reluctant to engage.
• Communicate progress and concerns to the teacher promptly.
• Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and learning engagement.
