Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting 1–2–1 tutors to support pupils in the Wigan area who are not accessing a school setting. You will deliver tailored, individual tuition to help pupils re-engage with education and progress in maths and English (KS1–KS4).

Role requires QTS/QTLS or significant tuition experience with references, and experience with SEMH/SEND needs. Flexible availability and daily records are part of this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, or significant recent tuition experience with references.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and/or SEND needs.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning sessions.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualised 1–2–1 tuition to pupils.
• Support children with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Plan and deliver sessions in maths and English (KS1–KS4).
• Monitor engagement and progress through structured support.
• Complete daily session records and half-termly progress reports.
• Flexible availability to accommodate multiple pupils.

About the Role

• Deliverindividualised 1–2–1 tuitionto pupils
• Support children withSocial, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, andSpecial Educational Needs (SEND)
• Plan and deliver sessions in:
• Maths and English (KS1–KS4)
• Functional Skills (where appropriate)
• Adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils workingbelow age-related expectations
• Monitor engagement and progress through structured support

Working Pattern

• Tuition takes place during theschool day
• Typical assignments involve2 hours per day, Monday to Friday
• Opportunity to take on multiple pupils depending on your availability
• Completion ofdaily session recordsandhalf-termly progress reportsrequired
• Due to the nature of the work, this role is best suited to individuals withflexible availability
