Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd in the DL2 area is seeking a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with additional needs. The role starts in October 2026 and is based in a welcoming primary school.

You will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualised learning support, helping the pupil access lessons, build confidence and independence, and enjoy a positive school day. The minimum qualification is Level 3 in Teaching and Supporting Learning, with prior primary

Qualifications

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Schools.
Experience supporting children with additional needs within a primary school setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to help the pupil access classroom learning and activities.
Supporting the pupil with their individual learning needs and targets.
Helping the pupil to remain focused and engaged during lessons.
Supporting communication, social development, confidence, and independence.
Providing reassurance and encouragement throughout the school day.
Supporting positive behaviour and helping the pupil to develop appropriate strategies for managing challenges.
Adapting activities and resources where appropriate to help the pupil access learning.
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent support.
Supporting the pupil during classroom activities and transitions throughout the school day.
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
