Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking a patient and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in the Epping Forest area, Essex.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping the pupil access the curriculum, develop confidence and independence, and make progress academically and socially. Training and ongoing guidance will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND, ASD, ADHD or SEMH is desirable.
• Proven ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Experience in school, childcare or care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil to access classroom learning and activities.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.

• Provide emotional and pastoral support where required.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

About the Role

Vision for Education are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Epping Forest area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence and independence, and make positive progress both academically and socially.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil to access classroom learning and activities.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Confident in building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Able to provide consistent and individualised support.
• Proactive, adaptable and resilient, with a positive attitude.
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a wider school team.
• Experienced working with children in a school, childcare, care or similar setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs is desirable but not essential.

Relevant Teaching Assistant, childcare, education or care qualifications are desirable, although strong transferable experience will also be considered. Vision for Education also welcomes candidates with transferable experience from care and support settings.
