Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Walton-le-Dale, Preston. The role is long-term, term-time, with an immediate/next-term start and hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

You will support an individual pupil with learning, emotional regulation, and communication throughout the school day, working alongside the class teacher and SENDCO to enable curriculum access.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in primary, specialist, or nursery settings with SEND background beneficial.
• Vetting: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain) and two recent references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support to a pupil.
• Implement EHCP targets and adapt tasks into accessible activities.
• Support behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Facilitate sensory breaks and motor activity.
• Encourage independence and positive peer interactions.
• Maintain daily logs and feedback to teachers and parents.
