Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Marple area of Stockport, supporting a child with complex SEND on a 1:1 basis. Immediate start and full-time, long-term contract.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored, consistent support that helps the pupil access learning and participate fully in the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with SEND, including complex needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach.
• Team Teach/positive handling training desirable.
• Moving & Handling training advantageous.
• Ability to work as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with complex additional needs.
• Help pupil access learning and develop academically and socially.
• Work with class teacher and SEND team to provide consistent, individualised support.
