Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is assisting a high-achieving secondary school in Kirkham, Lancashire, to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Secondary SEND Support) for September 2026. The role supports a student with an EHCP in Key Stage 3/4, working Monday to Friday during term-time.

The successful candidate will have experience with SEN, be calm and resilient, and able to differentiate tasks with teachers to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in teaching support or care/mentoring background preferred
• Experience supporting students with SEN desirable
• Ability to adapt to individual education plans

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 support across KS3/KS4 lessons.
• Differentiate tasks with teachers to suit learning needs.
• Support emotional regulation and focus strategies for the student.
• Encourage independence and positive peer interactions.
• Collaborate with SENCO and pastoral staff on EHCP milestones.
