Job summary

Chepping View Primary Academy in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Teaching Assistant with one-to-one responsibilities to work with pupils under the guidance of the teaching staff. The role focuses on supporting learning, development and wellbeing across the curriculum.

The post is fixed-term, 32 hours 30 minutes per week, term-time weeks 39, with pro rata salary in the 18,501–19,236 per annum range. Start date anticipated 30 November 2026, with interviews in October.

Qualifications

• EYFS knowledge desirable; induction and training provided including First Aid and Child Protection.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Provide three original identification documents for DBS identity and Right to Work checks.
• Provide original academic qualifications at interview; transcripts not accepted.
• Visits to the Academy are welcome and should be arranged in advance.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learning (small groups and 1 to 1) during and outside of teacher input.
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to meet their learning goals.
• Helping children develop socially, emotionally and academically.
• Supporting pupils with reading, writing and maths.
• Providing verbal feedback to pupils to advance learning.
• Promoting inclusion of different cultures and life experiences.
• Managing behaviour and routines within the academy behaviour policy.
• Preparing resources and activities as necessary.
• Carrying out medical duties (training provided).
• Supporting children for part of lunch time.
• Contributing to safeguarding culture and ensuring children are safe in school.
• Contributing to Chepping View staff team effectively.
• Safeguarding and health/welfare of children.
• Break and Lunchtime duties.
