Job summary

Charing Church of England Primary School is seeking a committed One-to-One Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated, individual support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum and participate in school life.

The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only plus one week (39 weeks). You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised strategies and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers and SENCo.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a named pupil under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo.
• Support pupil’s access to learning and participation in classroom activities.
• Implement personalised strategies to meet learning, behavioural, emotional, or medical needs.
• Assist with planning and delivery of adapted learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
• Support pupil during transitions, break times, and school activities.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and record progress, contributing to assessments and review meetings.
• Collaborate with parents and external agencies to provide consistent support.
