Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs across primary and secondary settings in the local area. This flexible day-to-day supply role lets you choose your schedule while helping students access their curriculum.

Responsibilities include one-to-one academic and behavioural support, emotional regulation, and working with teachers and SENCOs to foster confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in education or care settings.
• Patient, resilient, proactive and encouraging personality.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and build rapport quickly.

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Flexible Day-to-Day Supply)

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 academic, emotional, and behavioural support to assigned pupils.
• Help students engage with classroom activities adapted by the class teacher.
• Assist with emotional regulation, sensory breaks, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Foster independence, self-esteem, and social communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and school support staff.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as Autism, ADHD, MLD, or SEMH, in an educational or care setting.
• Attributes: A patient, resilient, proactive, and naturally encouraging personality.
• Adaptability: Ability to step into different classroom environments and build rapport with students quickly.
• Requirements: Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) and suitable references.
