Job summary

Randstad UK is actively seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs across primary and secondary schools in the local area. You can choose your own schedule with regular local bookings and enjoy the flexibility of supply work.

Role focuses on 1:1 academic, emotional and behavioural support, helping students access the curriculum and build confidence. DBS update service or willingness to apply is required, with references available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting.
• Patient, resilient, proactive and encouraging personality.
• Ability to step into different classroom environments and build rapport quickly.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) and suitable references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic, emotional and behavioural support to assigned pupils.
• Assist with classroom activities adapted by the class teacher.
• Support emotional regulation, sensory breaks and a positive learning environment.
• Foster independence, self-esteem and social communication skills.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
