Job summary

Step Teachers in London are seeking a dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role at a thriving primary school for pupils aged 5-11. Immediate start available.

You will provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND, help access learning, and work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies. The role also focuses on supporting the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is essential.
• Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD/ADHD etc.) desirable.
• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND.
• Help the pupil access learning and engage in classroom activities.
• Work with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement support strategies.
• Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
