Job summary

Senploy is seeking a dedicated SEND 121 Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role at an 11-18 secondary school with a sixth form in England. The position offers an immediate start and involves providing 1:1 support to a student with additional needs and helping them access lessons and activities.

You will work closely with SENDCo and teaching staff to promote safeguarding, maintain professional boundaries, and support the pupil's learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs is desirable.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional needs.
• Build a positive working relationship with the pupil.
• Support learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Help the pupil access lessons and school activities.
• Implement strategies provided by SENDCo and teaching staff.
• Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback where appropriate.
