Job summary

Key Stage Teacher Supply is seeking a proactive 1to1 SEND Level 2 Primary Teaching Assistant in Darwen to support a pupil with learning and development needs across the classroom. The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, starting immediately.

A DBS on the update service is advantageous. The school offers a supportive environment with opportunities for professional development and long-term placement stability. PAYE is paid weekly to successful applicants.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
• Understanding of the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, proactive and supportive approach
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Encourage pupil engagement and participation
• Support behaviour management using positive strategies
• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
