Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a caring 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 with ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Dyslexia in welcoming Barking primary schools.

The role is full-time, term-time only, long-term and linked to EHCP funding, with immediate and September 2026 starts. You will work with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to tailor support and help pupils access learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s SEND experience in a school setting.
• Experience supporting children with ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech and Language needs.
• Knowledge of positive behaviour management and inclusive classroom strategies.
• Experience implementing EHCPs, IEPs or personalised learning plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech and Language needs and other SEND.
• Deliver personalised interventions inside and outside the classroom.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Follow EHCPs/IEPs and individual support plans.
• Adapt resources to meet pupil needs and aid progress.
