Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking caring Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs in mainstream primary schools. Roles are long-term and flexible, with September 2026 starts and competitive pay.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and participate fully in school life. Prior SEND experience is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to SEND/education is desirable but not essential.
  • Patient, caring and dedicated approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Ability to support pupils to access the curriculum and participate in activities.

Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Helping pupils access lessons, activities and the wider school environment
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
  • Supporting pupils through transitions and changes in routine
  • Adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families
  • Supporting pupils to engage positively with their peers and the wider school community
  • Providing personal care support where required
