Job summary

Philosophy Education is seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN in mainstream primary schools. The role offers long-term and flexible supply starting September 2026, with competitive pay and local opportunities.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, helping children access the curriculum, build independence and participate in school life. Previous SEND experience is valued but not essential; a caring, patient attitude is key.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN is preferred.
• Patience, empathy and adaptability essential.
• Ability to work with teachers, therapists and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils.
• Assist pupils to access the curriculum.
• Support communication and emotional regulation.
• Promote independence and social development.
• Assist with transitions and routines.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and families.
• Support personal care when required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and safety.
