Job summary

Philosophy Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream primary school. You will help access the curriculum, foster independence and build confidence in a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND, education, care, youth work, psychology or similar is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Helping pupils access lessons, activities and the wider school environment.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Supporting pupils through transitions and changes in routine.
• Adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families.
• Supporting pupils to engage positively with their peers and the wider school community.
• Providing personal care support where required.
