Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is partnering with a specialist SEND school in Rotherham to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting immediately. You will provide 1:1 support to a KS4 student with Autism/ASD and an EHCP, helping them engage with learning and regulate emotions.

You should have a TA qualification Level 2 or 3, plus SEND experience and 1:1 support; Team Teach desirable, with strong behaviour and communication skills. PAYE employment provided.

Qualifications

• A relevant TA qualification Level 2 or Level 3 is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism / ASD.
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with EHCPs.
• Team Teach training is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a KS4 student with Autism/ ASD and EHCP.
• Help the student engage with learning and manage emotions.

Salary: £90-£110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Rotherham, who are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant. The school supports young people with additional learning needs, providing a specialist educational environment tailored to their individual needs.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 4 / KS4 student with a diagnosis of Autism / ASD and an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP, helping them engage with learning, manage their emotions and develop independence while following individual support strategies.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 2 or Level 3, is desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism / ASD
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with students who have EHCPs
• Team Teach training is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people with additional needs
