Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is partnering with a specialist SEND school in Rotherham to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant for an immediate, full-time role providing dedicated 1:1 SEND support for a KS4 student with Autism/ASD and an EHCP.

You will assist with learning engagement, emotional regulation and independence, following tailored support plans within a supportive team. PAYE payroll, competitive rates, and ongoing CPD are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant with SEND experience.
• Experience supporting 1:1 and students with EHCPs.
• Team Teach training is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to KS4 student with Autism/ASD and EHCP.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Rotherham, who are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant. The school supports young people with additional learning needs, providing a specialist educational environment tailored to their individual needs.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 4 / KS4 student with a diagnosis of Autism / ASD and an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP, helping them engage with learning, manage their emotions and develop independence while following individual support strategies.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 2 or Level 3, is desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism / ASD
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with students who have EHCPs
• Team Teach training is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people with additional needs
